Buy gold.

Buy guns.

Learn basic survival skills.

Be ready to get out of town. Know a good, isolated place to go when the sheep finally hit the fan.

Ignore all laws that do not derive from the First Principle of libertarian/individualist/voluntaryist philosophy.

If you are arrested for point #3, make noise. Find a way to be heard.

Be literate and lucid while doing so.

Read Thoreau, de la Boetie, Spooner, Tucker, Rothbard, Mises and all of their derivatives.

Refuse to label yourself.

Repeat as necessary.

When the revolution comes, never forget that the leaders who emerge from amongst the various factions have one thing in common: They all want to be in charge.

Never forget that governments will always grow out of control. It is not in their nature to do otherwise.

Never forget that humans will always align into governments. It's a power thing.

Never forget that those who profess to be on the lookout "for your best interests" are really on the lookout for their own lesser ones.

Stop worshiping buzzwords. "Society", for example.

Remember that your time and body are your own. They are scarce resources. Do not part with them involuntarily.

If you choose to part with them involuntarily, don't expect others to follow merely because you think it only fair. You made your choice. Bully for you. Now shut up and leave the rest of us alone.

Know the consequences of your own free will.

Keep government local. When it begins growing out of control, kill it and start again. Repeat as necessary.

So, what do you propose Matthew? Your comment is nicely deconstructive, but what's your alternative?

Society is something emergent that occurs when people interact with each other, you cannot point at it and you cannot owe it anything. When any politician says the word 'society', you can be damn sure what he really means is 'the state'.
- Perry de Havilland

"Society" is just another artificial construct coined by the control freaks to keep the sheep in a well-formed pack. It is but another expression for the "public good", a concept so lovingly vague and meaningless that all manner of state oppression and murder have been consummated in its name. Any half-baked political hack can pass a piece of liberty-robbing, life-sucking legislative garbage, as long as he can convince the dupes it's for the "good" of "Society."

You profess to abhor all forms of collectivism, but then mindlessly endorse two of the most egregious: "society" and taxation.

One wonders what mechanism you would have in place to ensure your strictly limited, minimalist (to start) government does not morph into the selfsame Leviathan beneath which we smother presently? A "strictly constructed" Constitution? Worked great the first time, didn't it?

The seekers of power will always find copious methods to expand their purviews, regardless of the restraints placed upon them by well-meaning minarchists.
