We have some powerful pellet rifles and pistols that we “plink” with, but they can do damage to property and limb if unsupervised – besides being a little harder to pump up. I’m thinking that with the Red Ryder and some basic instructions they could have the chance like I did to become a little more comfortable on their own terms – and mamma not have to worry about broken windows if they *forget* for a moment what’s behind their target.

And, yes, scenarios do have to be kinda flexible – but you know, I think just the fact that you’ve practiced something in your mind helps you to handle things with more aplomb than you might have otherwise done.

Anyway, interesting read…one other thing that I’ve found interesting about “scenarios” (I do the same thing) is that my planned responses will oftentimes change as a result of what happens to other people. Just as an example, my “scenario” for getting pulled over by the police used to be to do whatever they asked, within reason of course. After one of my friends and my cousin both had their Constitutional rights violated by officers during a traffic stop, that scenario changed real quick.
