I guess character doesn’t matter when casting your vote. Let’s see, he served divorce papers on his wife while she was in the hospital with cancer, was cheating on another wife with a staff member and was charged with ethics violations by the most corrupt and unethical body of criminals in the country. Yup, we deserve what we get, good and hard.

Hillary can win in 2008. Going negative against Hillary won’t really work, because the people who hate her aren’t going to be persuaded, and the people who don’t hate her may even feel sorry for her. Nope, to beat her, we need a strong candidate. I don’t think the Republican party is ready to get behind Giuliani, so that leaves McCain & Gingrich.

I disagree with your assertion that the Republican Party won’t get behind Giuliani. Giuliani is one these politicians that transcends ideology because of his handling of 9/11. Many fellow pro-lifers I know and even fellow gun nuts would vote for Giuliani down here in the buckle of the Bible Belt, especially when the alternative is Hillary. In fact the perfect Republican ticket would be Giuliani and Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour or Giuliani and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.

Though I would gladly support Gingrich if he decides to run.

I agree with almost everything in this post except one word, “but.”

You wrote “but [Newt] has been out of office during the most recent stint where the Republicans have imploded. I think I would have written that as “and.”

I think it works in his favor to have not been a part of the chaos that is the current GOP.
