Iraq will be the deciding factor among the Democratic candidates in 2008, and Hillary was flat wrong on the subject. More and more it looks like it will be Al Gore's election to lose, please see http://minor-ripper.blogspot.com/2006/12/why-al-gore-will-vanquish-hillary.html

Maybe, not sure he's got enough name recognition. The former governor of Maryland is possible too.

But I bet neither of them is willing to take on the moral majority big government types in the Primaries. That's what has stopped other good potential candidates in the past 10 years.

The best hope we have is for Ron Paul, as a spoiler, to shift the debate. And he may just be able to. Better yet, a surprise upset in the ‘08 primaries as all the Republicans who are not “Compassionate Conservatives” realize he is their dream candidate now that Reagan and Goldwater are no longer among the living.

There's got to be someone else other than Ron Paul. Paul's terrible on immigration, trade, foreign policy, and is questionable on fiscal issues. Plus, he runs with Alex Jones and other conspiracy theorists.
