Mitt Romney Takes On McCain-Feingold
by Doug MataconisTo the surprise of some, Mitt Romney was the overwhelming winner of the straw poll conducted at this weekend’s CPAC conference in Washington.
What is really interesting, though, is what the former Massachusettes Governor had to say about the piece of legislation most closely associated with one of his opponents:
Romney criticized McCain by calling for the repeal of McCain-Feingold and pledging to fight to repeal the law if elected.
I honestly don’t know much about Romney but anyone who calls for the repeal of McCain-Feingold is good in my books.

I also liked the part of the speech he gave where he pledged to personally lead a top to bottom review of the federal budget, mentioning that he’d done it in the private sector, for the 2002 winter olympics, and for the state of massachusets.
Go Mitt!
Comment by Jay — March 4, 2007 @ 4:21 pmI was extreemley impressed by the sencerity of Romney. I have had some issues with him and his stance on certain issues but he has really changed my heart on him. When he speaks I really do beleive he is going to do what he says. I’m Baptist and this will make some of my friends upset but I am for Mitt all the way!
Comment by John — March 4, 2007 @ 5:50 pmThis didn’t surprise me at all. Liberals and a very small but somewhat vocal minority of conservatives are intent on pretending that Romney can’t make it. The fact is that he wins the support of almost everyone who actually hears him.
Comment by Craig — March 4, 2007 @ 6:21 pmGo Mitt Go!!! This guy will make a great president!!!
Comment by Terry — March 4, 2007 @ 10:58 pmMitt is It!…the best and most qualified candidate!
