Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Government backed study has revealed.
It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.
And, its not just 20th Century history that is getting ignored in the name of being solicitous to ethnic sensitivity:
There is also resistance to tackling the 11th century Crusades – where Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem – because lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.
Because, you know, the 11th Century was just yesterday.
They allow illegal immigration that’s what they get. Have to appease another culture of people.

But there are times when I wonder whether Christians in this country have forgotten about a little thing called the Enlightenment.
Comment by Doug Mataconis — April 2, 2007 @ 10:33 pmYeah, they seem to forget that America was founded on both Judeo-Christian and Enlightenment values. Our friends, the social conservatives, only seem to remember the Judeo-Christian part and even then distort its influence.
Comment by Kevin — April 2, 2007 @ 10:54 pmCertain Christian groups use this very same logic to argue for dropping evolution from US curriculums. It’s as ridiculous here as it is in England. More ridiculous are the left wingers that criticize the Christians for it while supporting it for the Muslims.
I wonder if hypocrisy was as developed in the 11th century as it is today.
