Just to make the point clear, how often do people make such spot judgements about a stranger's alchohol collection? "Oh, he bought 20 bottles of Chardonnay yesterday and 30 bottles of peppermint schnapps today, more than any sane individual should ever use in a (completely arbitrary period of time). I wouldn't call him innocent at all."

The elephant in the room, in the War on Drugs, is alcohol. Years ago, this country made a decision that the harm done to its citizens by keeping a certain drug illegal outweighed the expected and/or actual benefits. Today, the ONE drug that causes more broken homes...more lost productivity on jobs...more death - is alcohol. I don't know anyone in politics who seriously says we should return to the days of alcohol Prohibition.
Yet people seem to think that if we legalize any other drug, it will cause catastrophe. The argument against full legalization is, and always has been, emotional. There is no rational justification.

(I also believe strongly that individuals have a RIGHT to buy, sell, and use all drugs - but these days you aren't ever allowed to use THAT argument; the "pragmatic" one is controversial enough.)

mrbill, your attitude is EXACTLY what the statist "War on (some) Drugs" people are hoping for.

In a truly free society, it doesn't matter ONE BIT how much of a drug you buy, own, or "should ever use in a one-month period". I don't make such judgements about someone else's quantity of drugs.
You should be able to legally buy AND KEEP any amount of drugs you like - the only time it should be illegal is if you hurt or defraud someone while under the influence of a drug.

That's five 80-count boxes of Bronkaid, more than any sane individual should ever use in a one-month period (10+ pills a day, easily enough to kill someone). I wouldn't call him innocent at all.

Let's put an end to the war on drugs.

Congressman Ron Paul, the leading voice in today's freedom movement, is running for President of the United States. Dr Paul represents our best opportunity to infuse the 2008 presidential elections with a conversation on personal freedom. But he can't succeed without the help of you and me! I'm putting my money where my mouth is by pledging a paltry 100 bucks to help his campaign, and I urge you to do the same.

Let's send a message to Washington and the media that this man and his message will not be ignored!
