Hillary Clinton In Her Own Words

by Doug Mataconis

I’ve spent much time here criticizing some the Republican candidates for President, principally Giuliani and McCain, for what seems to me to be a clear bias in favor of authoritarianism and a lack of real committment to individual rights and fiscal restraint.

That doesn’t mean the alternative is any better. Consider this and this

“The unfettered free market has been the most radically destructive force in American life in the last generation.”- First Lady Hillary Clinton on C-Span in 1996

“We just can’t trust the American people to make these types of decisions. …Government has to make these choices for people.” —Hillary Clinton circa 1993, speaking to Rep. Dennis Hastert on the issue of who should control the allocation of money in her health care reform plan

“We’re saying that for American to get back on track, we’re going to cut [the Bush tax cuts] short and not give it to you. We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” —Hillary Clinton, in a 2004 fundraising speech to wealthy liberals in San Francisco

“We can’t afford to have that money go to the private sector. The money has to go to the federal government because the federal government will spend that money better than the private sector will spend it.”- First Lady Hillary Clinton in a disagreement with a Republican congressman

This is the leading light of the Democratic Party. Any questions ?

  1. Clinton is a communist. Plain and simple. And, just like communist leaders of old, she wants to do things that are for the supposed good of the people - to take decisions away from the public - while maintaining a false sense of deserved luxury for herself.

The folks who think Bush wants to be a dictator have it wrong. Look closely, folks. Hillary’s the one to worry about.

  2. Perhaps we need a communist to counteract the previous 8 years of facism……. just a thought.

  4. The Clintons are a menacing danger to America remaining a constitutional republic. Hillary Clinton is a megalomaniac who will stop at nothing to secure her coronation as 44th president. Read my book about the risk to America of another Clinton presidency, “Hillary Clinton Nude: Naked Ambition, Hillary Clinton And America’s Demise.”

  5. All I know is that Hillary bears a very creepy resemblance, physically and otherwise, to Angela Landsbury’s character in the original version of The Manchurian Candidate.

  8. I used these quotes to talk someone out of voting for her, if it comes to that, despite their idea of voting for her “because it would be nice to have a woman president.”
