according to the news section on her official site, Sheryl Crow herself says that this was a joke.

granted, it doesn't seem to have been posted in that context, and i think there's a lot of room left for what was obviously a BBC misunderstanding.

that said---it seems pretty clear from this that you're simply re-posting without any source checking at all. which is ALWAYS a sound practice, of course, because a major media outlet would NEVER lie or distort the truth.

(hint: that last sentence was a joke. y'know, in case it went over your head.)

Perhaps Ms. Crow could use this idea. Instead of using dishes and silverware that would have to be washed, we could all just eat with our hands like they did back in the good old days before SUVs. We could also be like "real musicians" and only bathe 4 times a year.

Absurd ideas are easy to come up with. The problem with the global warming crowd is that their science is absurd as well, and just as easily dismissed as both her ideas and mine on how to save the environment.

By the way, just a side rhetorical question. Exactly when are the pesky situations where one would need two or three pieces of toilet paper and how would we make sure everyone was able to distinguish when it is a pesky situation and when it is just a normal, "one sheet please" situation?

It's a sad day when even the BBC don't take the time to read the whole blog entry and realize it's a joke.
And it's sad that so many people parrot anything they hear.
