Ron Paul On Tucker Carlson
by Doug MataconisSay what you will, but Ron Paul is getting noticed, and I think that counts for something
Today, it was Tucker Carlson’s show on MSNBC:
“The principle that the majority have a right to rule the minority, practically resolves all government into a mere contest between two bodies of men, as to which of them shall be masters, and which of them slaves…” Lysander Spooner

I don’t know how old you are, Doug, but enjoy this moment.
We shall not see his kind again in our lifetimes.
(pss, I am 32.)
Comment by C Bowen — June 6, 2007 @ 6:21 pmWow. It was refreshing to see someone on TV actually act civilly toward Dr. Paul.

Holy crap, who was that? surely that couldnt have been tucker carlson… maybe some of these dick pundits who have said some pretty ridiculous things over the years are actually just actors playing the most popular role at the time.. could tucker actually be a civilized intelligent guy?
Comment by Paul — June 6, 2007 @ 11:27 pmApparently he voted for Dr.Paul back in 1988… Yeah, it surprised me too.
Comment by MDforLibertarian — June 7, 2007 @ 4:53 amTucker Carlson, bless his heart, has been coming around toward true libertarianism for some time now. Bush and the neocons have forced a lot of intelligent conservatives (and not just a small number of liberals) to start rethinking their views, values and priorities when it comes to giving the government more and more authority to pursue a particular social or cultural agenda. That’s what is potentially historic about Ron Paul’s candidacy: He’s talking about revolutionizing not just the Republican Party, but the way mainstream Americans think about the unchecked power of the modern federal super state. He’s explaining carefully, consistently and precisely to people why it behooves them to demand that government be made and kept smaller. He is bringing home the obvious point that sooner or later, somebody with whom you strongly disagree (like a Bush or a Clinton) is going to gain control of the government, and there’s a pretty good chance you’re going to be aghast at (and possibly very afraid of) what happens next.
Comment by Alex Davies — June 7, 2007 @ 10:32 amCheck out an article I wrote about Ron Paul titled, The “Goldwater†Conservative. It is about the importance of Ron Paul in the Republican Party.
