I read the executive order. Nowhere does it state that its intent is anything other than making executive branch documents public at all levels as security allows.

It also defines an “agency” for the purposes of the language of the order. It includes agencies as usually accepted offices below the President and VP, AND “any other entity within the executive branch”, which includes the President himself, and the VP.

Which just goes to show: Dick Cheney is just that, a dick.

So, the Vice President -is- a part of the executive branch, he just can’t be held accountable for what he does with the secrets of the State and he doesn’t need to justify why it is that he actually needs to know all these secrets.

Democracy in action I would say. An agency that is -not an agency- that should not have access to secrets has access to secrets but is unaccountable for what it does with these secrets at the same time.

You, as an individual, who are also -not an agency- cannot have access to secret information, cannot elect to withold information from -certain agencies- that is then classified and used in ways that they do not have to justify in the least, be the information correct or not, complete or not, relevant or not.

And: we should not worry about it and just run along now, nothing to be seen, nothing to wrack our little brains about, let the grown-ups speak, continue consuming like the sheep that you are and SHUT THE FUCK UP already.
