And Po Boy, if your dream of a government of “common people” consists of giving tax dollars away to poor people, then the people you want in office are really no different than Ted Stevens. Collecting taxes with the idea of redistributing wealth is still theft, same as corruption and earmarks…doesn’t really matter what the thief’s personal background is, if what he’s spending the money on isn’t meant to benefit all taxpayers equally then the only thing you’ve changed is the group doing the stealing.

These same people seem to always have companies that benefit from multimillion dollar govt contracts. Whatever happened to the representative of the people? The common people are not rich! Perhaps the only way this country will ever move in the right direction is if there was a wealth cap on govt officials. Maybe then the interest of the people and nation would come first.
