Ron Paul’s Third Television Ad
by Doug MataconisThese are getting better.
Here, Paul hits on the Iraq War and the War on Terror, but also brings up an issue that nobody else is talking about right now — the impact that the War on Terror and legislation like the PATRIOT Act have had on the privacy rights of Americans.
Here’s the text of the ad:
I’m Ron Paul and I’m the only presidential candidate who’ll bring our troops home from Iraq immediately and stop wasteful government spending. But here’s something else I care about, and I hope you do too. The war on terror and the growth of big government have had a dangerous side effect: The loss of privacy rights for the American people. Both parties have put their pet schemes ahead of our rights. Not me. As president, I won’t stand for it. No national ID card, no invasion of privacy. I’m Ron Paul and I approve this message.
Sounds good to me.

perfect ad… congrats to RP and staff
Comment by Mike Robinson — November 8, 2007 @ 2:48 pmFantastic and it’s about damn time someone stood up for our rights in congress
Comment by steve — November 8, 2007 @ 2:51 pmIt’s about time a candidate said that! He’s got my vote.
Comment by Antony — November 8, 2007 @ 3:39 pmI’m very pleased. The campaign staff is fallible, their judgement is superb. They and we are methodically doing all the little things (and some big things) necessary to make it happen. It still might not, but we’re exactly where we need to be at this point in time.
Now for those that aren’t yet aware of the Bill of Rights day, watch this video:

You all saw how big 11/5 was and if you have any doubts about the incredible free media coverage we received, click here, because it’s still going.
This is going to be even bigger. We have five weeks to rearrange our schedules and finances to accomodate it, so “But it’s a weekday!” isn’t a good excuse. :-) This is how we win.
- Dec 15th is Bill of Rights day. This is the work day. Every Paul supporter spends the day spreading the word. The “laptop brigade” approach will probably be the most effective.
- Dec 16th is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. This is the money day. All existing supporters and all new converts chip in and we make a mockery of the record books by donating $1 million per original colony.
We raised $4m in one day with the help of 38,000 individual donors. 30% of them were first time donors. We have 60,000 activists on meetup.com and we all know countless more that are just below the radar. We have even more that just heard the impressive news and are warming up to his ideas. Many of them will be on board within a few weeks.
We have the manpower to pull this off. I was skeptical about 11/5. They had committments for $1.8m in advance, but I thought they would underperform that by a bit. Instead, they blew it out of the water. We’ve proven to each other that we can do it. And this time, we have it scheduled to coincide with events that are pure Americana, rather than an obscure British holiday.
Did I mention that this is how we win? Do what you have to do to get ready for the biggest upset in American history.
Comment by Jeff Molby — November 8, 2007 @ 4:08 pmNice. I think next time he needs to reach out directly to veterans and those that love them.
Comment by Andy — November 8, 2007 @ 4:42 pmI’ll vote for that.
Comment by David — November 8, 2007 @ 5:20 pmRon Paul Rules. He’s got my vote.
Comment by Henry — November 8, 2007 @ 5:22 pmI’ll vote for the and Dr Paul in the Primaries.
Comment by Keith — November 8, 2007 @ 6:00 pmIt starts with the primaries and we all need to become delegate or at least try. Do that and try to get elected to the national convention…tough but we have to go as fart as we can and support all the way!
“Sounds good to me.”
A superior commercial, I believe, to the one that consisted of chubby, bearded cats.
