As someone who was forced to take investigational drugs under the military's mandatory (and often pointless) "vaccination" program, I'm in complete agreement with you Brad. The one thing you truly own in this life is your own body...once the state starts telling you or your family what you have to do with it or put in it, open tyranny's rarely far behind.

I'm with ya, Brad - and btw, wow! Congrats! Looks like you've had a busy year!

As we're homeschoolers, in Florida we're not required to vaccinate, although I get the "soft" requests in the mail through our insurance company recommending it. My kiddos had all their early vaccinations, but I pretty much drew the line when one pediatrician wanted to put us on the schedule of TB testing every six months (not a vaccination, of course, but as my kids weren't even in daycare, it was pointless). As I have girls, the big push now is to make them "one less" by giving them the HPV Vaccination. It's so disingenuous, though, the adverts for this stuff!

Thanks Aimee. It's a tough decision, and I've never been the type to look down on people when they choose differently than I do. Nothing annoys me more than the anti-vaccine folks who would just as soon look down on me for allowing my son to have any vaccines, as if I was suddenly being "duped" by the powers that be. Good luck with your kids, and I'm glad that you came to a choice that you are comfortable with.

What bothers me is when the state wants to take away my right to make a choice.

Brad, I am by no means telling you what you should do about vaccines, just thought I'd share my experience. I had the chicken pox twice, first when I was about 10 and the second time when I was 14, I know, not supposed to happen (its pretty rare). Had the vaccine been around when I was a kid, it might have been avoided. The second time was so severe I had to go through the Dr.'s office through the back door. The chicken pox were on top of each other, in my eyes, down my throat and everywhere else, add that to high fever, being extremely uncomfortable, and throwing up. While most cases are not too bad, it can be very severe. My 3 kids, between the ages and 2 and 10 have had all of their chicken pox shots and will continue to get them as needed. I don't want them going through what I did. That's just my 2 cents.

"Chickenpox is an uncomfortable infection that, in most cases, goes away by itself. However, chickenpox also has been associated with serious complications, including death. About one of every 100 children infected with chickenpox will develop a severe lung infection (pneumonia), an infection of the brain (encephalitis), or a problem with the liver. Dangerous skin infections also can occur. Before the introduction of the vaccine, about 100,000 people were hospitalized and 100 people in the United States died each year of chickenpox, most of them previously healthy children. Adolescents and adults who develop chickenpox are also at high risk of developing serious complications."

Q: How do you know if an article is well-written?
A: There's that needs to be said in the comments section except "Thank you."

Well done, Brad.
