Doug,

There may be a lot of things that a President can't do by himself, but there are so many worthwhile things that a liberty-minded President *can* do that the first priority should be filling the office of POTUS. Focussing on a "Liberty Slate '08" *before* there is a solid "No!" in the Whitehouse is putting the cart before the horse. (BTW, what rhymes with '12?)

Just the sheer number of vetos from Dr. "Know" is going to be worth all of the money I donated. His ability to bring the troops home from *all* 130+ countries they are staioned in is going to be worth all the time I have donated. Dismissing unconstitutional executive orders, pardons for all the non-violent people convicted merely for posession (or for failing to file taxes they don't owe), and the ability to prevent the issuance of any federal warrant, except under strict conformity with the Constitution are icing on the cake.

Once Ron Paul is elected, we will see which Congresscritters (GOP or DEM) *need* replacing; my guess is that most will follow Ron Paul into freedom, or at least pretend they are, just as quickly and certainly as they followed Dubya into fascism.

That said, I think this is a good idea to get started on now, so that it is ready in 2010, and if you have maxxed out the amount of money that McCain thinks you should be able to donate to a presidential campaign, then by all means, donate to Liberty Slate 08.

Later.
