I was thinking of supporting Huckabee because I initially thought he was more conservative than Mitt. I now realize how shallow he is, using his so-called religious credentials to garner votes. I’m voting for Romney. His platform is strong national defense, fiscal conservatism, and family values. Huckabee’s platform is his version of what he calls “Christianity”.

I’m not sure that I would call Mike Huckabee a bigot. I think he is just plum arrogant and has the liberal mindset in a conservative wrapper that he knows what is best and is willing to use the power of government to enforce it.

Before the primary season, I figured if McCain was the GOP nominee, I was going to vote third party. But now, I think that third party motivation is up to two. A Huckabee administration scares me for the simple fact that it seems he will blatantly try to legislate his version of morality on the American people – that is, using the federal government to enact “good works.” Now I understand that faith generally influences one in all aspects of life, but it is not the place of government to promote one’s version of faith through bigger government. Leave that to the state police power through the several legislatures.

That is all we need is more stigmatization. People will be less inclined to find out what they have contracted under his administration.
