1. The author seemed to be bashing libertarians somewhat subtly.

2. David,

   That’s to be expected from motherjones.com… It’s not exactly a libertarian site. If you look at their “about us” page, they’re committed to “social justice”, which is hardly ever related to the sort of justice libertarians believe in.
