Ted, I'm afraid you really don't know your history very well at all. FDR sung the praises of the fascists in the 1930's, advocated implementing very similar institutions in the USA, and in fact was able to implement many fascist systems within this country, some of which were overturned by the Supreme Court. Do you happen to know under which President the private ownership of gold was made illegal? How about the bank holiday that caused thousands of banks to become bankrupt.

P.S. Fascists are not free market capitalists. They are socialists who believe in very limited capitalism subject to massive regulation and intrusion by the state. You really are pretty clueless about all this, aren't you?

smedley butler and fdr stood up to the facists in the 1930s and 1940s. fdr created a social safety net that was needed then and is needed now. he didn’t, however, say that it should never be held accountable to fiscal wisdom or common sense. over the past 75 years the social safety net has saved lives whereas the free market—the playground of both the facists AND the libertarians—has dictated the destruction of anyone and any thing that stands in the way of material profit.
long live ron paul. lucky for us he is wiser, stronger, more humane, more intelligent and better informed than many of his conservative supporters—people apparently delirious with self-love and clueless as to their specific culpability in enabling the rise of the fourth reich in america.

It's what I've been saying all along no way we can continue this Empire of ours because we simply can't afford the bill. If other countries paid tribute to us for protection that covered the cost then I could see it being possible. We literally can't afford to fight a war on terror by ourselves.

I noticed that PBS has better investigative reporting (Frontline), and talk shows such as Bill Moyers and Charlie Rose too.

Bill Moyers had a great interview with Victor Gold too. Barry Goldwater should have won. If he did maybe the Democrats would have stayed Democrats and not have taken over the Republican Party too. Barry Goldwater hated them. He once said that good Christians should kick Falwell in the ass.

An elected Ron Paul would send the Pat Robertsons back home. The Neocons would go back home too. All that would be left would be the Libertarians, Goldwater Conservatives and the Eastern Establishment.

I also think it was a very nice, objective interview. In this modern day, we have two bunches of people competing for politics -- those orators that have little backing in their philosophy and those that have a solid philosophy, but are plain-spoken. Congressman Paul is the latter and has conviction... no matter what happens. He is not just a face pushing for the office. Thank you Congressman Paul!

I also enjoyed Bill Moyers interview. When actually given a chance to speak his views, Dr. Paul is quite eloquent. Other interviews I've seen, like the Russert one, RP was being backed into a corner a little. Russert didn't want to discuss ideas or policies. He wanted to attack Ron, and make him look bad. PBS is accused of being a bunch of leftist trash, but to me, they are considerably more "fair and balanced" than any other news outlet. I think Bill Moyers may be a closet "Paulie". When Ron actually gets to speak, it's hard to argue that this man would not lead our country in a productive, rather than destructive way. Ron Paul '08
