I was trying to figure out the relationship of the story aside from it being linked by MLK.

Quite often, as an aside, I hear folks that are mildly racist use those stories to justify not liking MLK.

Adam you hurt my feelings :). I like your website. I just started reading it here lately. I know one of the writers (Jason Pye) that post here and he has a link.I like to get a differnt view then I get from the crowd I hang out with, which is mostly hard core Libertarians and Ron Paul supporters.
On the post I had earlier I think it is sad that one of the greatest speeches of alltime almost did not happen. I did not touch on the fact the president had told MLK he did not want him to give the speech at all.

I think you can make a point based on what Doug C just mentioned. After all, it was government that helped prop up and codify the racism that was already apparent in society, to the point where they were nearly ready to keep this speech from happening.

If anything, Doug C may be simply relaying a story based on what he heard on the radio today. I personally found it interesting.
