Actually it doesn’t measure up too well against Cadbury’s products over in Europe either. The Cadbury’s you get here (produced and/or imported by Hershey’s) is shit.

They’re still better than Mars, though.

I think you all miss the point with your knee jerk “rights” agenda. Hershey’s does have the right to sell the product, as its not illegal. But whether they should sell it is a different question. Perhaps its just a coincidence what the packets look like, but I doubt it. Much more likely to be intentionally made to look like drugs as a joke, or a marketing ploy to look cool. In either case it risks glorifying illegal drug use, may confound and waste police efforts, and create hassles for those “caught” with them. This is not good citizenship. It was a foolish and irresponsible decision to market this product, and Hersheys deserves any consumer backlash it gets. So I’ll avoid buying their products for now, and I don’t think there’s anything “insane” about my decision to do so.

Actually, I saw a piece about this on TV about a month ago and they do look like drug packets

I find this incredible. A legitimate company with a successful product is immitated by crooks and criminals and it is the company which is castigated.

Just—-Simply—–Incredible.

What makes anyone really believe that should Hershey repackage it’s products successful sales will not be imitated by the same crooks and criminals???????

Seriously, I think they’re okay for mass-produced chocolate (definitely better than Mars) but not as good as the pricier high-end stuff, obviously.

I find the bitching cop something of a paradox: how some people will continually bitch about companies influencing our precious, oh-so innocent young into doing drugs with seemingly subliminal PR and advertising (i.e. candy packets that look like drugs, an energy drink named “Cocaine”), with subsequent bitching giving those who complain an illusion over having power, when government schools have been doing subliminal torture to kids for years, sometimes resulting in kids trying to escape the inanity of government schooling via drugs or suicide or developing mental problems.

I suppose that’s less important an evil corporation that’s done nothing but make damn good (affordable) chocolate peddling pseudo-drug smut :\.

That cop in the article’s got nothing to bitch about though. It wasn’t Hershey’s fault her kid was a junkie, nor did their product have anything to do with her kid. People who blame everybody else for the problems in their personal lives piss me off.

Eh, I don’t have a problem. They weren’t forced to pull it. If it was a successful product, they’ll just repackage it in a way that avoids the PR/safety problem.
