Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

FDR presents such a quandary for me…I continuously ask myself how is it possible to revile and admire someone at the same time?

A question I have asked myself, actually.

In all honesty, I cannot think of a single American political leader in the 1930s and 40s who would have had the resolve and the will to shepard the country through one of the worst wars in its history.

For similar reasons, I think England’s chances of survival would have been a lot lower if Winston Churchill hadn’t been Prime Minister.

Clearly one of the many examples where the courts have completely ignored the US Constitution.

UC, liberal is a term that has been completely destroyed by the fascists and communists who call themselves liberal. But, liberal, in its original meaning, is what is now, more or less, called libertarian.

WWII, and a couple years post WWII, saw the greatest increase in the rate of acceleration of govt spending. permanent spending and permanent institutions.

Remember this the next time you hear someone talk about how much of a liberal Franklin Roosevelt supposedly was.

What do you mean? Liberals like Joseph Stalin and the Khmer Rouge love concentration camps…FDR was perfectly in line with liberal doctrine :)
