You know, MikeF, there is a gaping difference between guilt by association and realizing that sometimes one’s followers enable an otherwise harmless person to become dangerous. What kept FDR from becoming the next Mussolini? He didn’t have followers strong enough to sweep away the opposition to his vision.

And given that San Francisco seems to be the primordial cauldron of ideological stupidity, the fact that the moonbats are starting to view Obama as some sort of spiritual elite is worrisome in and of itself.

If anyone would read my blog they would know that I am not blinded by Obama’s charisma, but I must say after hearing one his speeches it was refreshing to think we could have a president that didn’t mangle the English language.

If he is elected, his honeymoon period will be less than 100 days. Most black people will have pride, but their expectations have been tempered by history.

I think that Obama is the devil in disguise not the messiah. He pretends that he is larger than life and will bring peace and happiness to the people but if a person looks up the coming of the antichrist they will find that Obama definitly fits the bill! He will rise to power with great speeches and the people will praise him as the Christ but in truth he is the beast and will destroy us all. From what I remember, his death will come and it will cause a war of 17 years and seeing that the only type of person that will bring that kind of confusion would be very much like Obama, a dream maker and a black man who is running for president. I am black and feel like other people who are enthralled by Obama have not read his history or looked at all of the other blacks who were made to be like Gods but then fell back to earth very quickly when the ones in power decided that they were truly only mortal all the time. Michael Jackson, O.J. Simpson, R. Kelly, Malcom X etc. Do not be fooled into thinking that Obama is a God because until you know his shady past you are not truly getting the real picture. June 18, 2008 will show another side you may not be ready for. Also everyone that Obama has touched has fallen from grace and lost all that they had accomplished!

I think it’s quite clear what that section of the book means. He’s going to stand up for Muslim rights if citizens are put into internment camps, in the same manner as Japanese citizens were in WWII.

The supposed camps that the far left theorized about never actually came into existence, but I’d stand up for a citizen who was being oppressed, too.

I don’t think Stephen was saying that we should fault Obama for his supporters.

But he’s saying we should be wary. As I said in my above comment, there are people in this nation DESPERATELY looking for someone to be their infallible leader. Obama is the sort of personality that fits that description. It’s not Obama’s fault, but with him leading, and the majority caught up in following, the rest of us will be drug along against our will. That is what makes him dangerous.

As Stephen points out, 4 or 8 years down the road, the luster may have worn off. We’ll all have realized that all his “hope” hasn’t delivered heaven on earth. But what it has delivered has been a host of bad policies that will only make life harder on those of us who value freedom.

And just two days ago I said we need to realize that we can't elect a savior. It seems that's what most of the Obama supporters are trying to do. They're desperately looking for someone to lead them out of the darkness. What of us who simply don't wish to follow?

I think I was more critical of those who are making unfair criticisms of Obama than Obama himself.

I was more than fair to Obama (and I didn’t bring up Rev. Wright even once BTW).

I don’t think I am holding Barack Obama responsible for his supporters. It’s not his fault he’s been placed on this pedistal. This could come back and bite him.

His ideas and his followers are a dangerous combo.
