Obama had to be very careful how he worded his response. He doesn't want to alienate his anti-gun base nor does he want to appear anti-gun to others who support the right to bear arms who would otherwise support him. As I have written before, Obama is trying to have it both ways on this issue.

McCain’s was only good on substance if you think he believes any of that. He might, until it gets in the way of any of his “national greatness” BS.

I agree with you on what Obama said. Pandering at its best. How people manage not to see through him and can keep claiming he is somehow different, I do not know.

Barr’s response was easily the best.

McCain was good on the substance, but seemed obsessed with Obama during the course of the entire statement.

Obama seems to have four sides of his mouth, because his response was so disjointed that you can’t say he was speaking out of “both” sides of his mouth. He basically said he disagreed with the decision without saying he disagreed with the decision.
