Either he was talking about the one time “day of service,” in which case he’s interested in meaningless gestures that do nothing to actually change anything (basically the volunteer equivalent of the Bush “economic stimulus” checks) or he was talking about the need to “get everyone involved” on a longer term basis. If the second is true, given the track record of politicians when they talk about the need for “us” to do stuff “together,” I think my skepticism is warranted.

Unfortunatley he is most likely referring to anyone with a clue. Get ready to be asked to “do more” for those who won’t do it for themselves.
