Definitely a stirring sentiment, if a bit non-specific.

If he means he’ll respect civil liberties and in the face of external threats, I’m happy to support him in that. If he means he’ll respect the limits in the constitution (that rule of law), including adherence to limited and enumerated powers – even in the face of public demands to the contrary – then I’m even happier to support him.

I guess I’ll have to wait and see what actions follow the words.

But I am happy we’re out of the Bush leagues.

I suppose Rush has dual citizenship so that he can avoid the failures that he’s hoping for.

One does not hope for a failure; the worst one should hope is for embarrassment. Failure would be bad for everyone.
