That will last, oh, all of 5 minutes. As someone who drinks tons of Diet Pepsi, I have heard all the whiners pointing to studies showing diet drinks are less healthy. Eh, at least pop drinkers have the beer drinkers to join us in fighting this.

For example, in the darkest days of the the Soviet Empire, vodka flowed most freely – it was the one “escape” available to the common man. So for this administration, which appears to be intentionlly inflicting economic ruination upon us, this is actually a rather clever (diabolical, but clever) plan, you must admit. You will suffer; you will then drink more; we will then get more taxes from your drinking.

Nanny state control over our eating habits coming too? Gee, what a surprise. Why don’t they just cut to the chase right off the bat, and flat out deny medical care to anyone deemed to be too obese by “Department of Homeland Health” (or whatever they will call the national health care bureaucracy) standards. [uh oh, I better be quiet and not give them any ideas].

Next up – the VAT (value added tax) — a Euro sort of national sales tax, not in lieu of income taxes – but in ADDITION to income taxes. Oh yes it is indeed on its way. I am certain of it.
