I also had a bit of a disturbing conversation, which I mentioned at UL, with a prominent libertarian regarding why Paul has been successful. You can find it at United Liberty.

Nevertheless, there is tape of Paul saying some pretty good stuff. He’s by all means a politician, as shown by the different ways he talks on MSNBC and Fox News. It’s just good to see the establishment stooge get thrown out.

A quick look at his platform shows why: it’s almost stereotypically Republican. His fiscal cred is certainly better than most, so there’s reason to hope he will represent libertarian interests more than most, but abortion, immigration, defense…. there are few meaningful differences in his rhetoric than most other Rs. It’ll be interesting to see his true colors if he wins.
