Alice:

If Nolan accomplishes nothing else in this campaign, I hope that his mentioning of S3081 in the debate will bring more attention to this bill. This was actually the first time I had heard of S3081; doesn’t seem that the media is all that interested in it. Hopefully, I wasn’t the only blogger to pick up on this, the message will spread, the public will be outraged, and S3081 will be defeated.

This is the true value of 3rd party candidates (or long shot candidates inside the two parties) participating in debates. While it would be great to see Nolan or another Libertarian win an election, in the meantime we will have to settle for the benefits of these voices being heard and at least becoming part of the conversation.

Nolan is the very best. John Mc Cain's response to the 3081 question is not a surprise.

But even that was smarter than the response he gave Ron Paul at the GOP Presidential debate in 2008. The moderator allowed each candidate to pose a question to another candidate.

Dr. Paul asked Mc Cain a question about some financial committee, I think, or something like that. I'd do just about anything to go back and hear the question since I did not write down exactly, but I do remember that it was a question even I could answer, but Mc Cain had never heard of it.

All Mc Cain is interested in, it seems is to increase the power of the federal government. He and Joe Lieberman are hard at work shredding what is left of our Bill of Rights.

Hopefully the people of Arizona will see through the media spin and vote their consciences, putting Nolan and Hess into office.
