		<description><![CDATA[He was a neo-conservative on foreign policy but from an oddly libertarian perspective.  He didn&#039;t buy into the whole &quot;We have to fight Islam because it&#039;s what Jesus would want&quot; angle that most neo-cons seem to come from.  He was more interested in opposing aspects of Islam because he felt they were anathema to individual freedom.  Unfortunately sometimes he went so far with his ideas on the degree to which we should oppose Islam that he ended up opposing individual freedom (of Muslims) himself.

But I always liked his columns and he did make you think.]]></description>
