I’ve tried to make this point to people numerous times.

I’m 6’5″, 250#, and hold a second-degree black belt in Hapkido. I’m a gentle giant, but in a “might makes right” situation, I like my odds.

So I try to set up the thought experiment. Let’s say I wanted to mug a petite woman.

She’s unarmed? I win.
She’s got a knife? I win.
She’s got a pipe or baseball bat? I win.
She’s got mace or pepper spray? I won’t be happy, but I win.

She’s got a Glock? She wins.
I’ve got a Glock and she’s got a Glock? It’s 50/50.

I’m not a predator, but in a disarmed world, there’s a lot of potential prey out there.
